Peter Andre told to rest after emergency op

Peter Andre has been ordered to rest by doctors after his emergency operation.

The Aussie, who was taken to hospital on Friday with "excruciating" stomach pains, endured an emergency operation but insisted on performing in Somerset on Sunday night.

Though he was unable to dance, Pete had been "terribly disappointed" to miss the opening night of his tour and was determined to take to the stage at Butlins.

Tweeting fans described his performance as "amazing" despite his ill health.

But he has been forced to postpone tonight's concert in Ipswich.

An announcement on his website said: "Doctors have advised him to rest for an additional 24 hours, following on from his operation."

The Ipswich gig has now been re-scheduled for December 9.
